Roinel Sánchez Ge started his Kennedy-King College journey in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. He graduated as salutatorian.
Previously a doctor in Cuba, Roinel Sánchez Ge was working full-time as a phlebotomist at Northwestern Medicine when he decided to enroll at Kennedy-King College to improve his English. His passion for learning and his medical background motivated him to continue his education and pursue an associate degree in science.
“City Colleges of Chicago has been an open door for my future,” he said.
Roinel took advantages of several resources while pursuing his degree and regularly participated in events and on-campus activities at Kennedy-King. He graduated in May 2024 as salutatorian and is transferring to Touro University Illinois to complete its Physician Assistant Program.
“City Colleges of Chicago helped me to identify the best way to reach my goals,” said Roinel.
When Nathlayn first arrived at Olive-Harvey College, she was a quiet student finding her way through a new chapter.
Wright proved to be a perfect fit for Tina. She appreciated the small class sizes and supportive faculty who encouraged her to ask questions and seek help.
