Jade Ocampo
Growing up in Chicago’s Belmont Cragin neighborhood, Jade Ocampo never imagined that her post-high school journey would take her into the world of quantum research, professional engineering societies, and national internships.
Olive-Harvey College Criminal Justice Instructor Dr. Jeffery Dillard’s favorite part about his job is interacting with his students. He’s passionate about working with each student to help them reach their personal and professional goals.
One way he’s done that is by creating the One Year and Out program at Olive-Harvey. Students can earn their Associate in Applied Science in one year and get on track to becoming Chicago police officers.
“To hear students tell me, ‘This program has literally changed my life.’ What more could you want?” he said.
Dr. Dillard’s commitment to the Olive-Harvey community and his students helped him become Olive-Harvey College’s 2024 Luminary Award recipient.
