When Carolina Verdial first visited Wright College after moving to Chicago from the Honduras, she was looking for a college for her daughter. She didn’t know then that the trip would also turn into a career at the college.

Previously a computer science teacher, Carolina felt at home in the education setting. She started working in the Continuing Education Department and is now serving as the coordinator of student support services in the college’s Advising and Transfer Center.

In her role, Carolina advises students to “begin with the end in mind” so they can successfully transfer to a four-year university or head into the workforce after graduation. And beyond helping students navigate their next steps, she’s able to speak directly to parents about the process, having been the parent of a Wright College student herself.

Carolina Verdial was selected as Wright College’s 2022 Luminary Award Staff Recipient.
