Project Evolve
Tomika Bernstein and James Robinson are starting new careers in the transportation, logistics, and distribution field thanks, in large part, to the Project Evolve scholarship program exclusive to Olive-Harvey College students.
Tomika is benefiting from the knowledge and skills she is learning in supply chain and logistics management; she credits the welcoming staff at Olive-Harvey for listening to her and guiding her in the direction of her goals, surrounded by resources and support. James shares a similar experience in his forklift certification program and said Project Evolve has been there every step of the way, from providing him with free classes to offering resume help.
Designed to increase equity among Chicago’s neighborhoods, Project Evolve is funded through an Illinois Community College Board Workforce Equity Initiative grant and encourages residents from the southeast side of Chicago to earn an industry-recognized credential in one of thirteen short-term certificate programs.
