Raven Jones is well on her way to her college degree – and she is just graduating from Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy this spring. This summer, the Marquette Park resident finished up the last two classes she needs to earn an associate degree from Daley College before she heads to Eastern Illinois University in the fall.

As a first-generation college student, Raven was excited to learn about the opportunity to earn college credits for free while she was still in high school. In fact, it was one of the reasons she chose to attend Goode STEM Academy.

“My mom is so proud and excited for me. She even wants me to stay at Eastern for my master’s degree,” says Raven.

While she was busy taking both high school and college classes, she was also playing on the women’s basketball team and working retail part time.

Focused on a career as a dentist, Raven will study pre-dentistry at Eastern starting this fall.
