Diamond Moore has spent her summer getting valuable hands-on work experience through One Summer Chicago at Daley College.

A current Star Scholar, Diamond has been working on presentations to share information about both the college and the Star Scholarship with high school students. She spends her days brainstorming about better ways to communicate with students and how to get students more involved on campus, as well as creating flyers for events on campus.

A graduate of Julian High School, Diamond followed in her older sister’s footsteps and became a Star Scholar at Daley College.

“The Star Scholarship really takes a load off your shoulders as far as worrying about money for tuition and books. I knew it was the best way for me to go to college,” said Diamond.

Diamond says her internship this summer has confirmed for her that the faculty and staff at Daley really care about the students, and work hard to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful. She’s also learned valuable lessons she will take with her to future jobs, like being open minded and patient with coworkers.

Also like her older sister, she plans to study communications at St. Xavier University once she completes her associate degree in the spring of 2020. Her ultimate career goal is to write and direct for the big screen.
