Patti Paone

Dedicated Nursing Education Specialist Prepares Future Nurses

Patti Paone is a Nursing Education Specialist at Malcolm X College’s school of nursing. With over four decades of experience as a nurse, her expertise, positive presence on campus, and obvious love of helping to educate our students are all appreciated by her coworkers and students alike.

She works with students who need help mastering theoretical concepts and preparing for standardized tests on their way to becoming registered nurses. The joy Patti brings to her work is palpable and has rubbed off on many of the students she has helped to support.

As one of her students said, “Patti just goes the extra mile to help students succeed. She is always available to students, and goes looking for us to make sure we attend prep sessions for upcoming exams. She always has a smile on her face no matter how exhausted she may be, as I imagine she must be from all her hard work.”

Another student said, “Patti takes students under her wing with a kind and caring demeanor. She is always encouraging, and helps build their confidence in their ability to succeed. She is an asset to the nursing department and her work with the students has been invaluable.”

President Sanders sang her praises when he presented Patti with the 2018 Luminary Award, “We know that we have one of the top nursing programs around, and it is because we have talented and hardworking faculty and staff who strive each day to support our students on their way to achieve their goals.”
