Future Tech Leader Thrives at Harold Washington College
After graduating from Walter Payton College Prep High School, Paul Moreno enrolled in Harold Washington College as a Star Scholar, allowing him to earn his associate degree at no cost. He also received a transfer scholarship from CME Group that will provide financial support for his next two years at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
When asked about what made his Harold Washington College experience so positive, Paul cited the Transfer Center, his professors, and the access he had to faculty and staff. He’s currently searching for a summer internship in computer science, which he’ll major in when he starts at UIC in the fall. Paul’s long term goals include securing work in software development at a large company like Google or Facebook.

Chanel Wiley graduated from Harold Washington College in Fall 2017 with her Associate of Arts, and transferred in Spring 2018 to North Park University to major in Media Studies with a minor in Communications.
