A short time ago, Nayelli Mendoza was working at a minimum wage job. After completing Malcolm X College’s medical assistant program in Spring 2017, she is now working at a leading healthcare provider in Chicago as a certified medical assistant. She says that from the first day she entered Malcolm X, the faculty and staff were beyond helpful, and she felt supported as she pursued her passion.
“Malcolm X’s virtual hospital was like nothing I’d ever seen, and now that I’m working with patients, taking vitals, and administering shots & tests in real life, I can say that my time in the medical assistant program really prepared me.”
As for the future, Nayelli plans to return to Malcolm X College to pursue her nursing degree.
