Nech is the first from her family to attend and graduate college and she was determined to be a role model for her children by overcoming challenges and achieving her educational goals. Even with her degree in hand, she sees her graduation from Kennedy-King College as just the beginning of a promising higher education journey.
Nech is a shining example of what happens when City Colleges students contribute to the college community. While at KKC, she served as Student Government Association (SGA) President, held the position of District SGA Vice Chair, was a member of international honor society Phi Theta Kappa, maintained a 3.75 GPA, and completed her associate degree in less than two years.
Nech is a graduate of Bogan High School. She arrived at KKC in October of 2015 and immediately started setting and achieving her goals. One of her fondest memories of her time at City Colleges was meeting and taking a picture with Hillary Clinton at a women’s event in 2016. She attributes that encounter – along with much of her success at KKC – to the strong relationships she developed with faculty and staff. Nech is set to start work on her four-year degree at Loyola this fall and plans to attend law school, to eventually work in corporate law. No doubt she will continue to inspire her children and her City Colleges family.
